What We Provide
BC Digital Divide is a volunteer organization that works strictly with donated computers. As such, we can only give out what is provided to us. But wherever possible, we try to provide the style of computer the recipient is hoping for. With a few exceptions, we generally have 3 models of computers available. Our computers have these minimum specs: Pentium 2 - 350 MHz - 128MB RAM

A desktop computer is contained in a large case that lies horizontally. The recipient often places their monitor on top of the computer.

A tower is similar in dimension to a desktop except that it is designed to stand vertically. As such, it is often placed on the floor, either under or beside the desk or table on which the monitor sits.

A bookcase computer is tiny in comparison to a desktop or tower. But their smaller size does not necessarily mean they're any less powerful. One downside of the bookcase is that it's much less expandable than the other two models. You can read more about the bookcase computer here.
