Donate Computer Equipment

Though we appreciate the generosity of all who are willing to donate, our objective is to get the very best equipment we can for the needy families we've identified. So we've found it necessary to set some minimum requirements:

Computers - We can accept any PC that is a Pentium 4 or newer. With Macintoshes, we can accept G4 or newer machines. If you have any of the original software that came with the computer, it would be great if you could include it.

Monitors - We can accept any CRT monitor 17" or larger or any sized LCD screen.

Printers - We've had so many problems with printer donations that we cannot accept anymore unless there are multiple (3 or more) printers donated at once and you can assure us that they all work.

Other Hardware We Need - Hard drives larger than 30GB, RAM (any type), PCMCIA network and/or WiFi cards, network hubs and firewalls, wireless routers, optical mice, and any AC adapters.

Software - We're always looking for educational software, graphics software, and non-violent games.

Our Guarantee: For anyone donating a computer, we thoroughly erase all hard drives using a utility that randomly writes 1's and 0's to it. This ensures that all of your confidential information is wiped clean.

If you have items that are older than what's listed above then we recommend you try posting them on Craigslist, either in computers & tech or free stuff. Alternatively, here's a local Vancouver organization you should check out. If you can't find a buyer then please contact Fresh Start Recycling.
